The four peels we offer

Ormedic Enzyme Facial, $79

The gentlest thing on this page, and the only one that contains no acid at all. It works with fruit enzymes instead: pumpkin, pineapple, papaya, and mango, with peptides in an organic aloe base. No stinging, no shedding, no looking like anything happened.

This is what we reach for when skin cannot take acid. Sensitive and reactive skin, rosacea-prone skin, and skin that runs red and flushes easily all do well with it, because nothing in it provokes the response that a stronger peel would. It is also the one peel on our menu we perform during pregnancy. If you are pregnant and have been told there is nothing available to you, this is available to you.

We use it constantly for three other things: getting skin ready ahead of a laser treatment, giving someone a clean glow before an event, and keeping skin looking after itself through the summer, when stronger peels are harder to protect.

Red Carpet Facial, $89

This is the ZO Stimulator Peel, and the nickname tells you what it is for. A blend of lactic, citric, and salicylic acids lifts dullness and evens tone in about thirty minutes, and in most cases there is no visible peeling at all.

It is the peel for the week of a wedding, a reunion, or anything you will be photographed at. It is also a sensible first chemical peel and a good way to keep your skin ticking over between bigger treatments. It comes from ZO Skin Health, the same line we send you home with, so what happens in the room and what happens on your bathroom shelf are working from the same plan.

BioRePeel, $250

The one people now walk in asking for by name. BioRePeel is built in two phases: an outer layer that stays on the surface and an active layer of TCA that works underneath it. That structure is why it corrects like a serious peel without costing you the visible flaking that normally comes with one.

It carries more than acid. Amino acids, GABA, and vitamins go in alongside, so it is feeding the skin while it resurfaces it.

It is also one of our better answers for acne, run as a series rather than a single visit. And our favorite way to use it is alongside microneedling, which is a combination we recommend often and one most practices in town are not doing.

For a specific concern, plan on four to six treatments spaced seven to twelve days apart. For maintenance, quarterly works well, and plenty of people book a single one before something they care about.

Perfect Derma Peel, $325

The strongest peel we offer and the one that genuinely moves pigment. It combines TCA, retinoic acid, salicylic acid, kojic acid, phenol, and vitamin C with glutathione, which is the ingredient that sets it apart from everything else in this category.

Expect real peeling. Days three through five are when your skin sheds, and the whole process runs about a week. This is a peel you put in the calendar deliberately rather than fit in around things.

For a stubborn concern, two to three treatments about four weeks apart. Chest or neck can be added for $200.

Which one is yours

• Sensitive, reactive, or rosacea-prone skin, pregnant, or prepping for a laser: the Ormedic.
• Something to look good for this week, and no flaking allowed: the Red Carpet.
• Acne, or real correction without the downtime: BioRePeel.
• Pigment, sun damage, or marks left behind by acne, and you can give it a week: the Perfect Derma Peel.

If you are between two of them, that is what the consultation is for. We would rather talk you into the gentler one and have you come back than sell you the deep one and have you spend a week regretting the timing.

Breaking out right now?

Come in. Active breakouts are a reason to book a peel, not a reason to wait for one. Salicylic acid clears out what is sitting in the pore, and the exfoliation keeps the next round from forming, which is why a series does more for acne than any single appointment will.

Melasma

Melasma is one of the harder pigment problems to shift, and peels are one of the better tools we have for it. Peels and Halo are what we reach for first when someone comes in with it, and between the two we can usually find something that works for your skin.

Bring it up at your consultation so we can look at it properly and choose. Melasma responds to consistency rather than to one dramatic appointment, so daily sun protection is part of the plan rather than an afterthought.

Most of what peels do best comes from a series rather than a single visit, so we do offer package pricing. We will go through the options with you at your consultation, once we know which peel you are actually having.

Who should wait

• Anyone who has taken Accutane in the past six months
• Open wounds, or any current irritation or infection in the treatment area
• Recently waxed, lasered, or heavily exfoliated skin in the same area

If you are pregnant or nursing, the Ormedic is the one we will book you for.

Afterward

• Use the ZO Skin Health post-care products we recommend, exactly as directed
• Let the skin shed on its own. Do not pick, pull, or help it along
• Stay out of direct sun and wear a broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher every day
• Pause retinoids, acids, and scrubs until we tell you your skin is ready
• On the deeper peels, skip strenuous exercise and heavy sweating for the first day or two
