What a facial is actually for

There are two kinds of facial. One is a pleasant massage that leaves your skin looking briefly better and changes nothing. The other is a treatment chosen for a specific result, performed by someone who knows what your skin is doing and why.

We only do the second kind. That does not mean it is unpleasant, and plenty of our clients find it the most relaxing appointment of their month. It means the treatment is picked for your skin rather than pulled off a menu, and that what we do this time takes into account what we did last time.

Our facials run anywhere from thirty minutes to seventy-five, and longer does not mean better. A thirty minute appointment doing the right thing will beat a long one doing the wrong thing, so we book the time the treatment actually needs rather than padding it out.

Facials are also where consistent skin comes from. Lasers and peels do the correcting. Facials hold the ground you gained, and they are how we catch things early, before they turn into something bigger and more expensive to fix.

The facials we offer

ZO Glass Facial, $399

The most underrated treatment on our menu, and the one our team would pick if they could only keep one. Glass skin is a Korean idea. It means smooth, poreless, and lit from underneath rather than shiny on top, and this is the treatment built to get there.

What sets it apart is that it works on two layers at once. There is microneedling underneath, stimulating collagen, and a brightening exfoliation across the surface, using the ZO Skin Health line we trust enough to send home with every client. That combination is why one appointment does the work of two, and why it handles such a wide range of concerns.

What we use it for:

Melasma. One of our better options for it, alongside peels and Halo.
Weddings, reunions, and milestone birthdays. Booked with enough runway, this is the one that has people asking what you have been doing.
Laxity and collagen. The microneedling builds collagen rather than only resurfacing, so firmness keeps improving for weeks after you leave.
Maintenance every three months. This is what the clients with the best skin in our practice are quietly doing.

Because there is microneedling in it, this is not a same-day glow treatment. Expect to look flushed for a day or two and to see some light flaking in the days after, with everything settled inside a week. Plan it a few weeks ahead of the thing you are getting ready for rather than a few days, and if you need same-day, that is what the HydraFacial and the Red Carpet are for.

HydraFacial, $200. Deluxe, $275

Deep hydration and an immediate glow. It cleanses, exfoliates, extracts, and floods the skin with serum in one pass, and you walk out looking better the same day rather than three days later. It is the most requested treatment we do, and the one we point people toward when they want something reliable before an event.

Firming Facial, $250

Built for skin that has started to lose tone rather than clarity. It lifts and tightens, and it is the right answer when what bothers you is slackness rather than texture or color. If you are not ready for a lifting treatment but want to feel like you are doing something about it, this is where that starts.

Acne Bootcamp, from $199

Targeted work on active acne rather than a general facial that happens to include extractions. This is the appointment for skin that is breaking out now and has not responded to what you have tried at home.

Acne is the one thing on this page that genuinely improves with rhythm rather than with a single visit, so we will talk honestly at your first appointment about what it will take.

Custom Facial, from $150

Nothing preselected. We look at your skin, ask what is bothering you, and build the treatment in the room. This is the one to book if you do not know what you need, or if your skin does something different every time you look at it.

Red Carpet Facial, $89

The ZO Stimulator Peel, a light chemical peel that lifts dullness and evens tone in about thirty minutes with no visible peeling. Book it the week of the thing you are getting ready for. It also appears on our chemical peels page, because it is genuinely both.

Dermaplane, $89

A sterile blade removes dead surface cells and the fine hair that sits on top of them. Skin feels immediately smoother, makeup goes on flat instead of catching, and everything you put on afterward absorbs better.

It is also the one add-on we genuinely recommend with a HydraFacial. Exfoliating first means the serums reach skin rather than sitting on the layer above it.

Ormedic Enzyme Facial, $79

The gentlest thing we do, and the only treatment here with no acid in it at all. Fruit enzymes, peptides, and an organic aloe base, which is why it suits sensitive and reactive skin, rosacea-prone skin, and skin that flushes easily. It is also the one facial we perform during pregnancy.

We use it constantly for getting skin ready ahead of a laser treatment, for a clean glow before an event, and through the summer.

Which one is yours

Melasma, laxity, or you want the best skin you have had and can plan ahead: the ZO Glass Facial.
Dry, dull, or an event this week: HydraFacial, or the Red Carpet.
Skin feels slack rather than rough: the Firming Facial.
Breaking out: Acne Bootcamp.
Sensitive, reactive, rosacea-prone, or pregnant: the Ormedic.
Peach fuzz, or makeup that never sits right: Dermaplane.
You genuinely do not know: the Custom Facial. That is what it is for.

How often

Once a month is the rhythm that works for most of our facials, because it matches how fast your skin turns itself over. Every four to six weeks means we are treating fresh skin each time rather than starting from scratch.

The ZO Glass Facial is the exception. Every three months is the maintenance rhythm there, and it is what the people with the best skin in our practice are on.

That said, a facial before a wedding is worth having even if you never book another one. Come as often as it makes sense for you, and we will tell you honestly whether more would actually help.

Who should wait

Anyone who has taken Accutane in the past six months
Open wounds, or any current irritation or infection in the treatment area
Recently lasered or waxed skin in the same area

Breaking out is not on that list. Active acne is a reason to come in, not a reason to wait.

Afterward

Use the ZO Skin Health products we recommend, exactly as directed
Wear a broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher every day, particularly after dermaplaning, the Red Carpet, or the Glass Facial
Pause retinoids, acids, and scrubs for a day or two after any exfoliating treatment
After the Glass Facial, let the flaking shed on its own and leave it alone
