Waxing at Nashville Skin Company in Nashville using Nufree, a soy-based alternative to wax that never adheres to skin. Bikini, Brazilian, underarms, legs, and more.

Hair removal from the root is why regrowth takes weeks instead of days. That much is the same everywhere. What we use to do it is not.
We call it waxing because that is the word you searched for. What we actually use is Nufree, and it is not a wax. There is no wax in it, no sugar, and no honey. It is soy based.
The difference that matters is this: Nufree bonds to the hair and never to your skin. Traditional wax grips both, which is exactly how people end up with a burn, a lifted patch, or a raw spot that takes weeks to settle. Nufree has nothing to hold onto, so it cannot take skin with it. It also goes on warm rather than hot, and it is antibacterial, which counts for something in the areas people are most private about.
It was developed for plastic surgeons who needed hair removed before surgery. That tells you what it was designed to do, which is clear the hair without compromising the skin underneath. Afterward we apply Finipil, an antiseptic that keeps the follicles clean while they close.
This is the single most common reason our waxing clients stay with us. We have people who have been coming for more than five years, and when they tell us why, it is this. If you have had waxing that left you sore, broken out, or peeling, that is not what happens here.
We also know your skin, which most places waxing you do not. We know what you are using at home, what treatment you had four weeks ago, and what you are booked for next month, and all three change whether today is a good day. Nashville Skin Company has been treating clients in the Nashville area since 2013.
These are the ones people book most. We treat plenty of other areas, face included, so give us a call or a text at (615) 997-3330 and we will tell you what that area costs.
If it is brows you are after, or tinting and lamination, that lives on our brows and lashes page.
This is the one thing that decides how comfortable your appointment is, and it matters in both directions.
Aim for about the length of a grain of rice. Shorter than that and there is nothing to grip, so the result comes out patchy. Longer than that and it becomes genuinely uncomfortable, because Nufree does not behave the way ordinary wax does and long hair will not release cleanly.
If you arrive and it is too long, we will reschedule you and ask you to trim at home first. We would rather do that than put you through an appointment neither of us enjoys. Trim before you come and it will be a far better experience.
Do not shave in between. Shaving resets the clock and puts your regrowth out of sync, so the next appointment is patchier than it needs to be.
Tell us what you are using. Retinoids, tretinoin, and strong acids all thin the skin, so pause them on the area for about a week beforehand. Same if you have had a peel or a laser treatment on that area recently. Nufree is far gentler on skin than wax, but gentler is not the same as invincible, and thinned skin still deserves the caution.
We would rather rebook you than treat skin that is not ready. If we turn you away, we will tell you exactly when to come back.
Expect some redness and small bumps for a few hours. That is the follicle reacting and it settles on its own.
Most of our clients come in every four to six weeks. That keeps you on the same growth cycle, and staying on that cycle is what makes it progressively easier. When everything comes away at the same stage, it is more comfortable and the result lasts longer.
Some people find regrowth comes in finer over time. That varies from person to person and we will not promise it.
We do both, so we have no reason to push you toward either one.
Waxing makes sense if the hair is fine, light, red, or gray, since laser needs pigment to aim at and will not do much with any of those. It also makes sense if you only want it for a trip or a season, or if you would rather pay a little each month than a larger amount up front.
Laser makes sense if the hair is dark and coarse and you are tired of dealing with it. Over a course of treatments it reduces what grows back rather than clearing what is there, and eventually you stop booking appointments altogether.
One thing worth knowing if you are doing both: do not wax between laser sessions. Laser targets the hair in the follicle, and removing it takes away exactly the thing the laser needs to find. Shave instead, and your laser results will be better for it.
